The Planet is an experimental silkscreen series of five planets (Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus and Jupiter) directly printed on the glass, spaced with inside-frame to allow distance between the glass and the back paper (also screen printed). The printed glass sheets are installed inside-out into the frame. The multiple layers imagers are printed with metallic ink and glow-in-the-dark ink, which allows the series to carry two distinct characters: as prints and as sculpture.
Under regular lighting the details of texture is emphasized with different colour metallic ink, the physical distance between the image and the back paper propose a sense of space while simultaneously both surfaces remains flat as prints.
Under fairly dim environment with enough energy charged, the glow-in-the dark ink will illuminate while the background and the frame blended into darkness, the planets are now glowing and popping out to the viewer.
